Hey everyone, or well, who ever is still around here on DeviantART.

I will start by saying I have grown up on this platform. DeviantART was where I made friendships that have lasted to this day. I met my best friend Erin on here and I was with her when she got married in October. I met Joe, Chris, an other talented artists on here who I'm still friends with to this day and I hope to see you in London next year for Star Wars Celebration. I grew my freelance career here, where so many of you trusted me to draw your amazing original characters and bring ones from text to life. The point being, I started many things here on DeviantART.

So it makes me so sad to watch things rise and fall and ultimately go a direction I don't wish to be apart of. As a result of many of my pieces being taken for NFT use a while back I hid most of my gallery aside for commissions. Now I've learned that DA is using artwork for Ai generated works through their DeamUp program. Regardless of precautions taken to protect our artwork on DA my response is the same.

I have many opinions about artwork and Ai generated artwork so I'll keep this opinion condensed and to the point, if you want the full essay I'd be more than willing to tell you my thoughts privately. Artwork is something that comes from a humans heart, soul, and physical effort by tools of the trade: traditional mediums or digital painting tools. I.e: Colored pencils, to oil paints, or even photoshop and drawing tablet. I do not think Ai should be one of the 'tools' to create art. Taking existing artwork and overlaying with other artwork is theft.

You are either an artist or you are not, you cannot program art.

As a result of all this I've opted to removed almost all of my artwork. I will only be posting portions of images from now on and my original characters will no longer be showcased on DA. Over the next few days I'll fill my gallery with glimpses of past artwork, mostly commissions and licensed works, just to have something for advertisement purposes. Watermarks will be obnoxious, and I will not be posting much if at all. I'll still make big announces of new projects and when commissions go live.

I'm going to give monthly booking a try and see if that gives a better work schedule for me to do my other job, personal projects, and free time to play all the PS5 games I got this year.

Been a while.

I hope all of you are doing well in this new year! I'm very excited to get back to artsing this year, doing more conventions, and hopefully doing projects that I've had saved away for when I found time. I've cut back my work schedule to allow more time for commissions and me time, which I think will put me in a better mood.

What does not put me in a better mood is this whole NFT stolen art situation that has just absolutely taken off and finally effected me. I've had countless works stolen even with my water mark. For the time being I've taken down all but a few images (mostly commissions) here on DA until I can either find a work around or I'll just have to leave them hidden for now.

If any other artist have a way to combat this or just have any info I'd love to hear your thoughts. I'm sort of at a loss but I'm also to frustrated to really make a sound opinion on the matter.

Hello! Hope 2020 is finding you as well as it can be.

I’m finally getting around to launching my contest that I planned on launching in March, but the world took a dump on everyone. If I don’t launch this now I never will haha. This contest is open to everyone of all levels, art, literature, you name it. The contest is centered around my Star Wars original characters focusing on themes of rebirth + forgiveness + family bonds.
